Skincare has always been an important part of my beauty routine and like many women, I’ve strived to get that healthy, glowing skin that every gal desires. Since I struggle with hormonal breakouts along with combination dry skin, it’s always difficult finding a product that works for me. When I originally heard about skin peels, I was intrigued by the results many individuals claimed to have but scared of how my skin would react to a peel.
I was very excited to get the chance to try Skin-Peel.com’s Jessner Solution Peel Kit because I’d heard wonderful things about the results of this lactic, salicylic and resorcinol-based peel. The kit contained the Peel Prep Solution, the Jessner Peel Solution (medium strength) and the Neutralizer Solution Spray. The kit also included a spray bottle top for the Neutralizer Solution Spray and two pump dispensers for the Jessner Peel Solution and the Peel Prep Solution.
The Steps:
Step 1- Cleanse your skin. Since I did the peel at night I removed my makeup with a cleansing oil and then followed up with my Clinique Gentle Face Wash.
Step 2- Apply the Peel Prep Solution. I used a cotton ball to gently apply the Peel Prep Solution to my face. I waited for my face to completely dry before moving on to the next step.
Step 3- Apply the Jessner Peel Solution. I applied several pumps of the Jessner Peel Solution to one of the gauze pads that came with the kit. I then lightly applied the peel to my face avoiding delicate areas such as underneath my eyes and on the sides of the nose. I left the peel on for about 6 minutes and then proceeded to the final step. Depending on how intense of a peel you’d like or how frequently you get peels, you can apply multiple layers of Jessner Peel Solution to achieve the desired results. Since I have sensitive skin, I opted to do one layer; however, I will probably progress to two layers after I do a few more peels.
Step 4- Apply the Neutralizer Spray. I sprayed the Neutralizer onto a cotton round and then applied it to my face to neutralize the peel. I found the Neutralizer Spray to have a cooling effect on my skin.
Step 5- Rinse and moisturize. Rinse your face thoroughly with water to remove the residue from the peel. I opted to use cold water for this step which felt very refreshing. Once you’ve rinsed your face off and towel-dried it, apply your favorite moisturizer. I used Philosophy’s Hope In a Jar.
Overall Review
I really liked the Jessner Peel and loved that it didn’t irritate my skin like other peels I’ve tried in the past. The results were glowing skin and a decrease in my monthly hormonal breakouts without the sensitivity and irritation that comes with some skin treatments. If you’re a sensitive skinned gal who experiences breakouts, you should give this peel a try. The Jessner Peel along with a variety of other skin peels such as Glycolic, Lactic Acid and more can be purchased on their website at http://www.skin-peel.com/.
Ratings:
Packaging: 5 out of 5-
Quality: 5 out of 5
Price: 4 out of 5— It’s a little pricey but you will get multiple uses out of the kit which makes it a good price overall.
Would I buy it again: Definitely.. I loved the results without the skin irritation!
